Welcome to our 2011 Changes Program! We are going to have our first meeting tomorrow, Thursday, 4/21/11 from 6:30 pm to 8:00 pm in the Youth Movement Studio (2nd floor, to the left of the elevator.) You do not have to wear your workout clothes for the meeting. Group Personal Training Information You will meet with your group and personal trainer starting next week: 6-7pm Monday/Wednesday. Lori Cable will be your group Personal Trainer. We will discuss the logistics in the meeting tomorrow evening. For tomorrow, I would like you to think about your wellness vision. When you create your vision, personalize the description of what you believe you can do and what you can be. First, look at the longer term (6-months - 2 years); later, we will look at specifics goals for the short term (1st week, 2nd week, at the end of the program, etc...) and how that can help fulfill the longer term vision. - Values (Who do I want to be?) - Outcomes (What results do I want to achieve?) - Behaviors (What activities do I want to do consistently?) - Motivators (Why does this matter a lot to me, right now?) - Strengths (What strengths, talents, and abilities will I draw upon?) - Challenges (What challenges will I overcome?) - Supports (What support team and structures will I put in place?) Examples of a wellness/fitness/health vision: - My health vision in the next year is to improve my health; in particular I have lower total cholesterol and a lower risk of heart disease. - My fitness vision in the next six months is that I exercise regularly so that I am delaying aging and preserving my ability to function well in my older years. - My fitness vision is that I have plenty of strength and stamina so that I play energetically with my grandchildren. - My wellness vision is that I am in charge of my health and feel greater wellbeing and contentment.
